Abstract

In June 2010, the FAO ‘Knowledge Management and Gender Programme’ organised a knowledge fair in Niamey, Niger, for its partners in West African Francophone countries. Two hundred and fifty people attended this event, despite the scorching heat. Their interest in the topics addressed, the facilitation of sessions and the richness of the sharing kept everyone focused during the three days of the meeting. Even though the knowledge fair was a success, the article further analyses what worked well or less well and what could be valuable lessons to organise an even better fair next time around.
