Abstract

This paper examines knowledge strategies of global organisations and considers the implications for new ways of working at the World Health Organisation (WHO). We analyse WHO knowledge strategies along four dimensions: utilising local knowledge, building knowledge capacities, local-global knowledge sharing and the transition to knowledge-based organisational forms, and conclude with some implications as to how the WHO might build bridges between local and global knowledge.
